Welcome to the Bariatric Journey!

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”
― Calvin Coolidge

I want you to read the quote above again and think long and hard about it.

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence.”

Persistence is key. You must have a never-give-up attitude. Zero compromises. Because once you compromise on one thing, it just gets easier and easier to do and you’ll be off track again before you know it.

If you can develop a never-give-up attitude, not only will you be unstoppable in your weight loss journey, you’ll be unstoppable in all aspects of your life!

Think of all the super successful people in the world that can barely tie their own shoes. These are people who refuse to take no for an answer. You must refuse to take no for an answer as well. You must refuse to compromise. Come up with a plan and stick to it.

Losing weight isn’t as complicated as it seems. Why does it seem so complicated? Because people and companies make fortunes on selling solutions. Solutions that usually aren’t practical, don’t work and can even be dangerous. They are selling hopes and dreams for cash.

To be successful, you need to learn the three ‘P’s.

  1. Plan
  2. Persistence
  3. Patience

You have to have a plan. You just can’t “wing it.” Having a plan, even to just make small gradual changes over time will be important. Persistence is the next most important part of your journey. If you don’t know what I mean, then read the quote at the top again.

The last one is key, Patience. You can’t expect results overnight, no matter how many snake oil salesmen promise immediate success. To quote Chet Ripley, John Candy’s character in the awesome movie, “The Great Outdoors”, “Easy money is money easily lost.” That means sudden success is fleeting. If you don’t earn it, you don’t deserve it.

That’s all for now, be sure to check the blog regularly. I will be posting articles to help you come up with a plan. I will help you stick to that plan so you can lose weight, get healthy, and be the person you know you are.

See ya in the blog!
